The growth superiorities of 129 families within 4 provenances of Pinus kesiya introduced from abroad were investigated and analyzed in the seedling stage. The height, ground diameter and coefficient of variation of P. kesiya were tested by using nested test method. The families had significant effects on germination rate and height-diameter ratio. Moreover, the improved Breggin multi-index comprehensive evaluation method was used, and by taking seedling height, basal diameter and variation coefficient as the evaluation indicators, the tested 129 families were evaluated, five superior families were screened out. They are K108、K105、K109、K107 and K104. According to the analysis of seedling stage, parts of the introduced superior families have been appeared growth vigor than others, so have excellent potential for further selection in testing trials.
