This paper described the experiments 27 steel plate bonded in glulam specimens to investigate the pull-out strength of steel plate bonded in glulam parallel to the grain. Influencing parameters such as anchorage length and hole spacing of the bonded-in steel plate were studied consideration. The failure modes,failure mechanics,load-slip curves and equivalent bond shear strength of specimens were analyzed. The test results showed that the main influencing factors on the load bearing capacity were the anchorage length and hole spacing.The failure modes included the steel plate fracture,the steel plate yielding,wood shear failure and steel-resin interfacial failure. Through the rational design of the specimens, the brittle failure such as wood shear failure and steel-resin interfacial failure can be avoided, which resulted in ductile failure with high load bearing capacity and good ductility. Finally, based on the test results, the determination method and design recommendations were presented.
